COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION :

Civitas had accomplished a one year project funded by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) to educate 5000 Palestinians in voter education and to select 50 volunteers among CBO's to create a network to work as local observers of the election of the local municipalities that took place during 2005; the project also carried out post-election activities like panel discussions and public meetings between the elected representatives and their constituents in the locations that received elections; the project was renewed to conduct similar activities of voter education, election monitoring, and post-election activities in the rest of the local units that received local elections in the year 2006.
